sleeping issues, advice needed

We are having huge sleeping issues at our house. I know some must be jet lag but there is more to it.

The girls go to sleep fine but wake up 1-2 hours later and scream until about 4 am then will go to sleep for a couple of hours.

We have tried calming tablets, co sleeping, rocking, singing you name it and nothing is working. They were not having these issues in vietnam, any suggestions? Please leave a comment if you have been through this and could offer any help.

Matt and I are exhausted and are desperate.

Oh I feel your pain! My little Lyla is having the same problems, and has been since we have been home. Actually, I posted about this on the PLAN message board today. Lyla does the same thing, she just screams. I have tried everything too. Let me know if you get any useful advice!
We are very sleep deprived too...this has been going on for two months with Lyla.
Good luck

My son also did this (woke up every hour and as soon as I picked him up he was instantly quite). After the first week (my mom had to go home), I actually let him cry it out. It broke my heart, but I have a toddler and I couldn't be up all night with the new baby and then up all day with her also. The first few nights were horrible, he would litterly scream for over an hour. But it didn't take more than a week to get him sleeping through the night. Now if he cries at night I just listen to him and he never cries (knock on wood) for more than 5-10 minutes). It was the best thing for our family and he is VERY attached to me, so I don't think that effected anything. Good luck, hopefully they will settle in soon!

P.S., I also put a night light in the room and a very low radio since it was so noisy in Hanoi and he slept right through all that honking.

I'm sorry about the sleeping issues. I've been there, but with different issues involved. It makes it hard to be happy and positive sometimes. I don't really have any other advice except use the priesthood. It sounds like you have tried all the normal stuff. I would love to contact you if that's ok. dwalker14@msn.com
CONGRATULATIONS!!! We are so happy for you.

You have to remember their days and nights are mixed up, when our 15 mo old from Cambodia and 6 yo from Thailand came home, it took a couple of weeks to get their systems on our time. Also if they are sick, which I see they are, ear infections do it everytime. Also have dad give a fathers blessing, it works wonders! ;o)Good luck!
